WORLDWIDE MUSIC CONFERENCE 2024
The Statement on Global Musical Culture
10 December 2024, 9:00–18:00
United Nations' Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland
About the Conference
The Worldwide Music Conference 2024 brought together prominent music researchers representing musicology, ethnomusicology, various humanities, natural sciences, and mathematics, as well as musicians, and cultural leaders.
The goal was to identify shared priorities for the preservation and development of global musical culture — and to launch the Statement on Global Musical Culture, calling on the international community to address them jointly.
Participants discussed music creation, education, research, the preservation of musical heritage, and the diversity and equality of musical traditions from around the world. The conference was hosted at the Palais des Nations by the World Health Organization.
